We will meet at the Health Department, 11 Pierce Street to leave promptly at 6:30
PM on a bus that will take us to MEMA. A “bag” dinner will be provided on the bus to Framingham. Return to the Health Department building should be by 9:00
PM!! This tour will include an explanation about the building, the history of the place, its purpose; along with showing everyone the communications area. It will also include some sit down time in the operations center, showing some of the electronics used at MEMA.

The Brookline Health Department has been working with the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital and Children’s Hospital on plans to staff an ISCU during a long term pandemic. MRC volunteers would be requested to help staff this ISCU. We will walk through the proposed ISCU unit at Emanuel College and discuss what an ISCU is, what its role is in a Pandemic and what the role of MRC volunteers would be if they are asked to assist with staffing.
Parking is limited and more details will be sent regarding where and how to go to Emmanuel.

This interactive training will focus upon how best to work with children and their families in an emergency situation. Clinicians will be given strategies for and practice with immunizing children. Non-clinicians will also learn about how they help children in an emergency.
